Significant Experience
Recently, Colby represented the widow of a young man who was killed, and two other Clients who suffered severe and catastrophic injuries by an explosion in Humphrey’s County Tennessee. Colby filed a third party negligence lawsuit against the parent company of his client’s employer and their landlord. The case was complex, and presented procedural and legal hurdles at almost every turn. After nearly four years of litigation, the case was settled on confidential terms.
In 2015, Colby represented the family of a five year-old girl who was killed when the ignition switch of the 2005 Chevy Cobalt, in which she was the passenger, moved from the ‘on’ position causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle. Colby filed a products liability and wrongful death lawsuit against General Motors, litigated the matter to the Southern District of New York in Manhattan, and ultimately resolved the case on confidential terms.
